Julianne E. Murray is a Delaware attorney whose career spans federal law enforcement, complex appellate litigation, criminal defense, estate practice, and statewide political leadership. In July 2025, she was personally appointed by President Donald J. Trump to serve as the United States Attorney for the District of Delaware — the chief federal law enforcement officer for the state — overseeing all federal criminal prosecutions and civil litigation on behalf of the United States.

As U.S. Attorney, she directed enforcement priorities focused on violent crime, narcotics trafficking, and white-collar offenses, and launched a Sussex County program to federally prosecute gun offenses in partnership with the Delaware DOJ, Delaware State Police, ATF, FBI, and local police chiefs. She voluntarily resigned in February 2026 to protect the office from litigation surrounding the "Acting U.S. Attorney" designation after her interim appointment expired.

Before her appointment, Julianne served for a decade as Managing Director of Murray Phillips, P.A. in Georgetown, building a multi-practice firm covering estate planning and litigation, criminal defense, appellate practice, real estate, and civil litigation. She has argued cases of first impression before the Delaware Supreme Court, including Higgin v. Albence, in which a vote-by-mail statute was struck down as unconstitutional.

Julianne has also served her state in the public arena — as the 2020 Republican nominee for Governor, the 2022 Republican nominee for Attorney General (where she earned the strongest Republican performance in a Delaware AG race since 2006), and as Chairman of the Delaware Republican Party from 2023 to 2025. She now practices as a Partner at Aleman & Associates in Milford.
